It started, as most great products do, with a problem you can't ignore: my daughters.
Every morning before school. Every afternoon before going out. Every Saturday before brunch. Every Sunday before… honestly I'm not sure what, but the question always came:
"Dad — fit check?"
I gave it my best shot. "Looks great." "I think the shoes work." "Maybe a different jacket?" Every now and then, I'd land it. Other times I'd get a sigh, an eye-roll, and a quick course-correction from someone with significantly better taste than me on TikTok.
Eventually I had to admit it: I was running an unscalable, undertrained, single-instance style review service out of our hallway. And demand was outpacing supply.
So I did the only thing a tech founder could reasonably do. I automated myself out of the job — and built a much better one in the process.
FitChecks is a custom-trained style and vision engine that does what I tried to do every morning — only faster, sharper, and without the eye-rolls.
It scores a fit on Fit, Color, Style, and Vibe. It picks up on silhouette, trend alignment, and styling details I would have missed on my best day. It's been trained, curated, and calibrated by people who actually care about clothes — so the answer you get back means something.
What started as a hallway service for two very fashionable kids now lives on the App Store, helping anyone who wants a real opinion before they walk out the door.
FitChecks is built by Owlstorm.ai — a small studio focused on AI-powered consumer products that solve genuinely useful problems with genuinely good design.
We believe AI should be quiet, helpful, and fast — closer to a great friend with great taste than a chatbot trying to sell you something. FitChecks is the first thing we've shipped under that idea. There's more coming.
